Health and Safety

Health and Safety general:
  • No inexperienced rowers may take to water without the supervision of a competent club approved coxswain. 
  • All rowers do so at their own risk.
  • All crews must have a cox with them.
  • All coxes and rowers must wear a properly fitting life jacket during the outing. Youth rowers (under 16) must wear a self-inflating life jacket.
  • The boat must contain a dry bag with a VHF radio (switched on Channel 11) and flare, baler.
  • Crews and coxes must make themselves aware of the rules of the water and be bound by them at all times.
Equipment: All equipment must be checked by the crew using the boat before and after use.
Breakages: Any breakages during the outing should be reported and the boat or equipment should not be used again until it has been satisfactorily repaired.
